The phenomenon of powerful life and dying life with its fragility and transience.
At the time, I felt like I was going to break down because of the impending conflicts, impulses, and bitterness that I had nowhere else to go. In an attempt to somehow turn things around, I painted a picture, which was the beginning of my art activities.Until then, I had only studied art in compulsory education, had never painted by myself, and had never been interested in art.
Driven by necessity, I had to paint, but in the process of painting, I seemed to know myself, unravel, and forgive.I felt a rapture I had never experienced before.I also found it interesting to encounter myself (something beyond me that I could not say was me), which I did not know, and I became more and more absorbed in painting.I was saved and at the same time felt as if I was expanding the world in which I live through an experience that is hard to put into words, as if I was opening up and moving forward into the unknown. I was determined to spend the rest of my life expanding my own possibilities.
What you see in my paintings seems to be the very life I have lived, and what I have experienced as a nurse seems to have been a major influence. In particular, my experience working in the operating room for about five years was the most important time of my life. The human body, as I saw it for the first time in my surgical career, is amazingly precise, delicate, wonderful, and surprisingly fragile.
These are intense experiences for me, but also for myself, and for others, for plants, animals, all life, and the world as a whole. The wonder, the horror, and the magnificence of it all was imminent and felt like it was hitting me all over. Living with the acceptance of death, watching the recovery and the healing process of the wounds as they were treated, I felt that life was tremendous, strong and vivid to me.
I found this strong life, along with its fragility and weakness, to be very beautiful.
There are many easy-to-understand two-party ideas in the world, but there are so many different facets to everything that it is impossible to capture.
I would ask if this is really the case. Two sides, good and evil, beauty and ugliness, life and death…. I want to create humane creations that seemingly contradict each other, but seem to coexist. I think it is beautiful just the way it is, just like the world.
